000 TTAA00 KATL 081713 RRA SVRATL GAC199-081745- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA 1214 PM EST WED JAN 8 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN WEST CENTRAL GEORGIA ...MERIWETHER COUNTY AT 1210 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM THAT PRODUCED GOLFBALL SIZED HAIL IN THE LA GRANGE AREA EARLIER WAS MOVING INTO MERIWETHER COUNTY. THIS STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR. THIS MOVEMENT WILL TAKE THE STORM OVER GREENVILLE AND LUTHERSVILLE BY 1220 PM AND TO ALVATON BY 1230 PM. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A STRONG BUILDING. DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.
