000 TTAA00 KSAT 200210 FFWSAT TXC171-265-200515- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 911 PM CDT MON MAY 19 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1215 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...GILLESPIE COUNTY...KERR COUNTY DOPPLER RADARS ARE ESTIMATING RAINFALL RATES OF NEAR 3 INCHES AN HOUR FROM MOUNTAIN HOME EASTWARD TO STATE HIGHWAY 16. THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE SHOWING LITTLE SIGNS OF MOVING AT THIS TIME. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
