THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR
BURNET COUNTY UNTIL 630 PM. AT 320 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNEERSTORMS ACROSS
THE EASTERN HILL COUNTRY.  RAINFALL TOTALS SINCE MIDNIGHT INDICATE
THAT ALMOST 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN NEAR BERTRAM AND 3 INCHES
IN BURNET.  ADDTIONAL RAINFALL OF ONE INCH OR MORE CAN BE EXPECTED
OVER THE NEXT ONE TO TWO HOURS.  THIS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY
