THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS EXTENDED THE
FLASH FLOOD WARNING...EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...FAYETTE COUNTY
 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A BAND OF HEAVY RAIN
FROM CISTERN TO SCHULENBURG DRIFTING TO THE NORTH AT 10 MPH. RAINFALL
RATES ARE ESTIMATED AT JUST OVER AN INCH AN HOUR. SINCE THE GROUND IS
SATURATED FROM PREVIOUS DAYS RAINS...MOST OF THE RAIN WILL RUN OFF
CAUSING LOW WATER CROSSING TO QUICKLY FILL.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED
ACT QUICKLY. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS
RISING. TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROA,DS. IF YOUR
VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU
CAN DO SO SAFELY.
