FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 800 AM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...GOLIAD AND VICTORIA
 
SIGNIFICANT RAINS FROM STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EARLIER THIS MORNING
IN COMBINATION WITH THE EXTREMELY SATURATED GROUND HAS LED TO
CONTINUED FLOODING AND FLASH FLOODING...THUS THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING
FOR GOLIAD AND VICTORIA COUNTIES HAS BEEN EXTENDED. LAW ENFORCEMENT
OFFICIALS HAVE REPORTED NUMEROUS ROADWAYS COVERED BY WATER. MANY
ROADS HAVE BEEN CLOSED AS A RESULT.
 
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IS LIKELY LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT
AS AN UPPER LEVEL LOW MOVES INTO THE PLAINS AND AS A STRONG COLD
FRONT APPROACHES THE REGION. ANOTHER 2 TO 4 INCHES WITH ISOLATED
AMOUNTS UP TO 6 INCHES IS POSSIBLE BY TONIGHT. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY
DANGEROUS WEATHER SITUATION AND RESIDENTS WITHIN THE WARNED AREA
SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION ISSUED BY
YOUR NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREnAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND WHEN FLOODING IS
ENCOUNTERED.
