THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BROWNSVILLE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  400 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS......
 
IN SOUTH TEXAS
 
   ...CENTRAL HIDALGO COUNTY
 
RAINFALL ESTIMATES FROM DOPPLER RADAR INDICATE THAT IN EXCESS OF 2
INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE PAST HOUR IN THE AREA BETWEEN MCALLEN
AND MCCOOK AS WELL AS THE AREA NORTH OF SAN MANUEL. THREE-HOUR RAIN
TOTALS IN THESE AREAS ARE APPROACHING 4 INCHES WITH AMOUNTS OVER 6
INCHES IN SPOTS OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS. FLOODING OF LOW LYING
AREAS IS LIKELY AND CREEKS IN THE AREA COULD BE OVER THEIR BANKS.
 
 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVER*S
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
