SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  500 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT
 
   ...HARTFORD COUNTY
 
AT 408 PM...DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR
WINCHESTER AND BARKHAMSTED. THE STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH AND
WILL MOVE THROUGH CANTON BY 420 PM...THEN THROUGH AVON AND WEST HARTFORD
BY 440 PM. THIS STORM HAS HAD A HISTORY OF LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING
WINDS.
 
IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A
STRONG BUILDING.  DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN...
AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.
STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.
