IN SOUTH RHODE ISLAND ...NEWPORT COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS. AT 530 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NORTH OF TIVERTON RHODE ISLAND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MPH. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
