THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1215 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...S...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...BARBOUR COUNTY...LEWIS COUNTY
 
DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR WAS INDICATING THAT BETWEEN .75 AND 1.00 INCHES OF
RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS NORTHERN LEWIS COUNTY WITHIN THE PAST HOUR. THIS
IS THE SAME AREA THAT RECEIVED HEAVY RAIN AND FLOODING LAST NIGHT.
ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN WILL CROSS THIS PORTION OF LEWIS COUNTY ALONG WITH
BARBOUR COUNTY BETWEEN 830 PM AND 1000 PM. THIS ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL
CAUSE STREAMS AND CREEKS TO RISE RAPIDLY.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WAxTERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
