000 WUUS1 KMOB 180900 RRA SVRMOB ALC097-129-180945- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 301 AM CST MON MAR 18 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 345 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA ...NORTHERN MOBILE COUNTY...SOUTHERN WASHINGTON COUNTY AT 3 AM CST MOBILE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MOVING INTO NORTHERN MOBILE COUNTY. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTH MOBILE COUNTY AND INTO SOUTH WASHINGTON COUNTY OVER THE NEXT HOUR. MOVEMENT WAS EAST NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH. THE COMMUNITIES OF CITRONELLE AND FAIRFORD ARE IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
