000 TTAA00 KLBF 062338 TORLBF NEC041-070035- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTH PLATTE NE 637 PM CDT TUE AUG 6 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTH PLATTE NE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 735 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA ...SOUTHERN CUSTER COUNTY AT 635 PM CDT NORTH PATTE DOPPLER RADAR WAS INDICATING A POSSIBLE TORNADO LOCATED ABOUT 7 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BROKEN BOW OR 7 MILES NORTHEAST OF CALLAWAY. THIS TORNADO WAS CONTAINED IN A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WHICH EXTEND FROM 18 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST TO 19 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BROKEN BOW. THE LINE IS MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 13 MPH. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS LINE OF STORMS...ACT IMMEDIATELY...GO TO A BASEMENT AND GET UNDER THE STAIRS...A WORKBENCH OR A PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...GO TO AN INTERIOR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET OR BATHROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. AVOID WINDOWS.
