FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  100 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS
 
   ...SOUTHERN STAFFORD COUNTY
 
...FLASH FLOOD WARNING EXTENDED FOR SOUTHERN STAFFORD COUNTY...
 
A LARGE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL MOVE ACROSS
SOUTHERN STAFFORD COUNTY SOUTH OF A LINE FROM STAFFORD TO 3 MILES SOUTH
OF MACKSVILLE AND WILL PASS OVER THE AREA WHICH RECEIVED TORRENTIAL
RAINFALL EARLIER THIS EVENING. AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO TWO INCHES OF
RAINFALL CAN BE EXPECTED BEFORE THE RAIN TAPERS OFF AFTER 1100 PM.
SINCE THE GROUND ALREADY IS SATURATED...NEARLY ALL OF THE RAIN FROM
THIS STORM WILL RUN OFF QUICKLY. ADDITIONAL FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS
AND PONDING OF WATER CAN BE EXPECTED IN SOUTHERN STAFFORD COUNTY SOUTH
OF HIGHWAY 50 THROUGH 100 AM.
 
TRAVEL IS DISCOURAGED IN THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING AREA. REMEMBER THAT
WATER FLOWING OVER ROADWAYS OFTEN IS DEEPER AND SWIFTER THAN IT
APPEARS...AND IT MAY OBSCURE WASHED OUT BRIDGES OR ROADWAYS.
