000 TTAA00 KDDC 090244 FFWDDC KSC047-090645- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 943 PM CDT WED MAY 8 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 145 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS ...SOUTHEASTERN EDWARDS COUNTY THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL HAVE PERSISTED OVER SOUTHEASTERN EDWARDS COUNTY FROM 3 MILES EAST OF TROUSDALE TO 3 MILES SOUTH OF CENTERVILLE SINCE 700 PM. RADAR-BASED RAINFALL ESTIMATES SUGGEST THAT LOCAL TOTALS IN EXCESS OF 4 INCHES HAVE OCCURRED...AND ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL IS LIKELY OVER EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN EDWARDS COUNTY THROUGH 1015 PM. LOCAL RAINFALL IN EXCESS OF 6 INCHES IS LIKELY BEFORE THE RAIN TAPERS OFF. MOTORISTS SHOULD EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE TRAVELING IN THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING AREA THIS EVENING.
