THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 600 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN WESTERN NEW YORK

   ...CATTARAUGUS COUNTY
   ...CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY
   ...ERIE COUNTY
   ...GENESEE COUNTY
   ...WYOMING COUNTY
 
AT 420 PM BUFFALO DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
WITH TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS THAT EXTENDED FROM NORTHEAST ERIE
COUNTY...SOUTH THROUGH SPRINGVILLE...THEN THROUGH CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY TO
JAMESTOWN.

THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE PRODUCING EXTEMELY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER AREAS
THAT ALREADY HAVE RAIN SOAKED GOUND. THE ACTIVITY WAS MOVING TOWARD
THE EAST AT 30 TO 35 MPH.

THOUGH THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAS ALREADY PASSED THE BUFFALO METROPOLITAN
AREA...THE REST OF ERIE COUNTY IS TILL IN STORE FOR MORE RAIN.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
