THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN SOUTHWESTERN NEW YORK

   ...CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY
 
AT 835PM DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO MONITOR A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN THIRD OF CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY. SKYWARN SPOTTERS
REPORTED LOCAL FLOODING OF RTE 60 IN JAMESTOWN DURING THE PAST HOUR.

ALTHOUGH THESE STORMS WILL MOVE OUT OF THE COUNTY DURING THE NEXT HOUR
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY CONTINUES TO DEVELOP TO THE WEST OF
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY OVER LAKE ERIE. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE TO THE EAST AT
40 MPH AND CROSS CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY BETWEEN 9PM AND 11PM.

HEAVY DOWNPOURS WILL OCCUR OVER AREAS OF SOUTHERN CHAUTAUQUA
COUNTY ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF RTE 17 THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED HEAVY
RAINFALL THIS EVENING. THIS INCLUDES THE TOWNS OF PANAMA...
ASHVILLE...CLYMER...AND JAMESTOWN.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT TIN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
