THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  530 AM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO
 
   ...CURRY COUNTY...DE BACA COUNTY...QUAY COUNTY
 
AT 320 AM MDT...RADAR SHOWED A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SHOWERS AND A
FEW THUNDERSTORMS EXTEND FROM NORTHEASTERN QUAY COUNTY SOUTHWESTWARD
INTO NORTHERN DEBACA COUNTY. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST
AT 10-15 MPH AND ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINS AND FREQUENT
LIGHTNING.
 
AT 315 AM THE STATE POLICE IN TUCUMCARI REPORTED VERY HEAVY RAINS AND
SOME STREET FLOODING.  HEAVY RAINS WAS ALSO REPORTED IN THE FORT SUMNER
AREA.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLO~ODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
