SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL
315 PM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL ARIZONA
 
   ...NORTH CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ COUNTY
 
AT 215 PM..TUCSON DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
IN NORTH-CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ COUNTY. THE STONGEST OF THESE STORMS
IS LOCATED NEAR MADERA CANYON AND PATAGONIA. MOVEMENT OF THESE
STORMS IS TO THE NORTH-NORTHWEST ABOUT 10 MPH. A REPORT FROM THE
SANTA CRUZ SHERIFF DEPARTMENT AT MADERA CANYON REPORTED STRONG
GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY RAIN. RAINFALL ESTIMATES FROM THE RADAR
INDICATED BETWEEN 1 AND 1 1/2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE
LAST HOUR. THUS A FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...
DESTUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. A FLASH
FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
