THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHILADELPHIA/MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  900 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN  NEW JERSEY
 
   ...EASTERN MIDDLESEX COUNTY...MONMOUTH COUNTY
 
AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS
 
DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A DEVELOPING SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ALONG THE
MIDDLESEX/MONMOUTH COUNTY BORDER NEAR MATAWAN.  THIS STORM WAS MOVING
SOUTH AT 20 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL MOVE SOUTH ALONG THE MONMOUTH/
MIDDLESEX BORDER PASSING NEAR ENGLISHTOWN AND FREEHOLD.
 
A SECOND VERY STRONG...POSSIBLY SEVERE...THUNDERSTORM WAS NEAR SANDY
HOOK NEW JERSEY. THIS STORM WILL MOVE SOUTH ALONG THE NEW JERSEY
SHORE COMMUNITIES INCLUDING ASBURY PARK.
 
WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH JUST OCCURRED IN LAURENCE HARBOR IN MIDDLESEX
COUNTY WITH PEA SIZE HAIL.
 
HEAVY RAINS WITH THIS THUNDERSTORM MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
STREAMS AND UNDERPASSES VERY QUICKLY.  DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  THE WATER MAY BE DEEPER
THAN YOU DTHINK.  IF CAUGHT IN RISING WATERS...ABANDON YOUR CAR
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
