TORNADO AND SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  630 PM EDT
FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK
 
   ...EASTERN SUFFOLK COUNTY...THE TWIN FORKS
 
  AND FOR MARINE INTERESTS ON THE SURROUNDING WATERS BETWEEN THE
      TWIN FORKS AND THE SOUTH SHORE OF LONG ISLAND EAST OF
      WESTHAMPTON BEACH
 
A LARGE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS ENTERING LONG ISLAND SOUND FROM SOUTHERN
MIDDLESEX AND NEW LONDON COUNTIES. IT WAS MOVING SOUTH AT 25 MPH. IT
WILL APPROACH GREENPORT AROUND 540 PM AND AROUND NOYAK AT 555 PM.
 
LARGE HAIL, WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH AND THE POSSIBILITY OF TORNADOES
DO EXIST WITH THE PASSAGE OF THESE STORMS.
 
 
 
THUNDERSTORMS POSE A VARIETY OF THREATS TO BOATER SAFETY FROM
BOTH GUSTY WINDS AND LIGHTNING.  YOUR BEST COURSE OF ACTION
DURING THUNDERSTORMS IS TO SEEK SAFE HARBOR...BUT IF YOU ARE
CAUGHT ON THE OPEN WATER...STAY BELOW DECK...IF POSSIBLE...AND
