FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  145 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS
 
   ...LOGAN COUNTY...MENARD COUNTY...AND SANGAMON COUNTY
 
AT 840 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING THROUGH
SANGAMON...MENARD AND LOGAN COUNTIES. THESE STORMS WERE PRODUCING VERY
HEAVY RAINFALL AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING
 
AT 835 PM RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF TWO TO THREE INCHES REPORTEDLY FELL IN
LINCOLN...25 MILES NORTHEAST OF SPRINGFIELD IN LESS THEN AN HOUR.
 
THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE IN PETERSBURG REPORTED TWO FEET OF WATER IN THE
STREETS IN TOWN.
 
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. FLOODING IS IMMINENT. DO NOT
TRY TO WALK OR DRIVE ACROSS RAPIDLY MOVING WATER...AS YOU MAY BE
SWEPT AWAY BY THE CURRENT.
