FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

   ...CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN KEARNY COUNTY
 
A NEARLY STATIONARY SEVERE THUNDERSTORM HAS PERSISTED OVER CENTRAL
KEARNY COUNTY SINCE 530 THIS EVENING...AND RADAR-BASED RAINFALL
ESTIMATES SUGGEST THAT 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN...WITH LOCAL TOTALS OF NEAR
6 INCHES...HAS FALLEN IN AN AREA APPROXIMATELY 6 MILES WIDE CENTERED
ALONG HIGHWAY 25 FROM 1 MILE SOUTH OF THE ARKANSAS RIVER TO 7 MILES
NORTH OF LAKIN. ANOTHER SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER SOUTHWESTERN KEARNY
COUNTY WILL MOVE NORTHEASTWARD AND LIKELY WILL PRODUCE ANOTHER ONE TO
TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL OVER THIS AREA BETWEEN 800 AND 930 PM. RUNOFF
FROM THIS RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND
SECONDARY ROADWAYS AROUND LAKIN THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES... DIPS... OR ZLOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM... EVEN A SMALL
ONE... ON FOOT.
