THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 AM EDT THIS SUNDAY
MORNING FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN  NEW YORK

   ...CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY...
   ...CATTARAUGUS COUNTY...(EXTENDED FROM 500 AM)
   ...ALLEGANY COUNTY...   (EXTENDED FROM 500 AM)

MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS HAVE BEEN MOVING
OVER THE WESTERN SOUTHERN TIER COUNTIES SINCE EARLY SATURDAY EVENING.
RADAR AND SPOTTER REPORTS INDICATED THAT OVER TWO INCHES HAS FALLEN
ACROSS MUCH OF THIS AREA SINCE 8 PM. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN
NEARBY ERIE PENNSYLVANIA REPORTED NEARLY 2.5 INCHES IN THE SIX-HOUR
PERIOD FROM 8 PM TO 2 AM...AND SIMILAR AMOUNTS HAVE FALLEN OVER
THE ABOVE MENTIONED COUNTIES.

RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO FALL HEAVILY AT TIMES THROUGH AT LEAST 5 AM
ACROSS THE REGION...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR ANOTHER ONE TO TWO INCHES
OF RAINFALL. THIS COULD RESULT IN FLOODING OF LOW-LYING AREAS AND
RAPID RISES IN SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS. AS A RESULT...THE FLASH
FLOOD WARNING FOR CATTARAUGUS AND ALLEGANY COUNTIES HAS BEEN EXTENDED
UNTIL 7 AM AND ONE HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. MOVE
TO HIGHER GROUND. NEVER DRIVE ACROSS A FLOODED ROADWAY.

BE SURE AND KEEP ABREAST OF THE LATEST WEATHER SITUATION OVERNIGHT
AND EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.
