FLASH FLOOD WARNING         EFFECTIVE UNTIL  900 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA
 
   ...EASTERN MARTIN COUNTY
 
TORRENTIAL RAINS CONTINUE TO DRENCH EASTERN MARTIN COUNTY AS NEARLY
STATIONARY STORMS PERSIST JUST NORTH AND WEST OF FAIRMONT. NEWLY
DEVELOPED STORMS ACROSS THE IOWA BORDER WILL BE SLOWLY ADVANCING INTO
MARTIN COUNTY WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR.
 
SEVERAL REPORTS INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER THE SAME WATER SOAKED
AREA OF EASTERN COUNTY.  NUMEROUS ROADS HAVE RECEIVED FLOODING PROBLEMS
OR HAVE BEEN WASHED AWAY.
 
SOME CITIES INCLUDED IN THE WARNED AREA ARE...CEYLON...FAIRMONT...AND
NORTHROP.
 
MOTORISTS SHOULD AVOID DRIVING ON ROADWAYS WHICH ARE COVERED WITH WATER
SINCE IT MAY HIDE A WASHOUT.
 
HEAVY RAINS CAN FLOOD BASEMENTS...AND STREETS CAN BECOME RIVERS.
MOST FLOODING DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT DRIVE YOUR
VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROAD...THE WATER
MAY BE TOO DEEP TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY.  IF YOUR
BASEMENT BECOMES FLOODED...WATCH OUT FOR COLLAPSING WALLS.
