FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  500 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA
 
   ...EASTERN SIBLEY COUNTY
 
IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA

THUNDERSTORMS DROPPING VERY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS PARTS
OF THE TWIN CITIES METROPOLITAN AREA. BETWEEN 3 AND 4 INCHES OF RAIN
HAVE ALREADY FALLEN NORTH OF GAYLORD IN SIBLEY COUNTY...ABOUT 20 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF HUTCHINSON. ALSO...FLOODING OF STORM SEWERS AND DRAINAGE
DITICHES HAS ALREADY OCCURRED IN PORTIONS OF CARVER COUNTY.
 
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER EASTERN SIBLEY AND
MUCH OF CARVER COUNTY THROUGH 5 AM THIS MORNING. RAINFALL AMOUNTS COULD
TOP 5 INCHES IN SOME LOCALIZED AREAS.
 
HEAVY RAINS CAN FLOOD BASEMENTS...AND STREETS CAN BECOME RIVERS.
MOST FLOODING DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT DRIVE YOUR
VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROAD...THE WATER
MAY BE TOO DEEP TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY.  IF YOUR
BASEMENT BECOMES FLOODED...WATCH OUT FOR COLLAPSING WALLS.
