THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1045 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL PART OF NEBRASKA
      BUFFALO

AT 958 PM CDT...A DEPUTY SHERRIFF REPORTED A LARGE TORNADO
JUST SOUTHEAST OF AMHERST MOVING TOWARD THE TOWN OF AMHERST...
OR 15 MILES NORTHWEST OF KEARNEY.  ALSO...A TORNADO WAS REPORTED
1 MILE SOUTH OF RIVERDALE...OR 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF KEARNEY.
THESE TORNADOS WERE MOVING SLOWLY TO THE EAST AT AROUND 10 MILES
AN HOUR.

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO TAKE SHELTER IN A BASEMENT
OR BELOW GROUND.  OTHERWISE GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE
LOWEST FLOOR.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A REINFORCED
BUILDING.

...THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING RAPIDLY ACROSS SOUTHWEST AND WEST
CENTRAL NEBRASKA...

AT 650 PM THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO DEVELOPE RAPIDLY FROM THE
HOLDREGE AREA...NORTHWEST TO JUST EAST OF THE NORTH PLATTE AREA.
SOME CONTAINED HEAVY RAIN.

THEY WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 45MPH.  THEY ARE EXPECTED TO
CONTINUE TO DEVELOPE RAPIDLY ACROSS CENTRAL NEBRASKA DURING THE
NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.  VERY HEAVY RAIN IS POSSIBLE ACROSS CENTRAL
NEBRASKA TONIGHT.
