NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 801 PM CDT WED MAY 5 1993 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 830 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS ...SOUTHERN STEVENS COUNTY AT 800 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A TORNADIC THUNDERSTORM. THE STORM WAS LOCATED 13 MILES SOUTH OF HUGOTON...OR 20 MILES WEST OF LIBERAL. THE STORM WAS MOVING NORTH AT 20 MPH. THE TORNADO WILL MOVE OVER OPEN COUNTY PASSING 10 MILES EAST OF HUGOTON BY 820 PM. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM TAKE SHELTER NOW!!! THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS STORM. ACT QUICKLY. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF AVAILABLE. OTHERWISE... GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR POSSIBLE.
