THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS
 
   ...KIOWA COUNTY
 
AT 610 PM CDT...DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED SEVERAL TORNADOES OVER
SOUTHERN AND EASTERN KIOWA COUNTY. THESE TORNADOES WERE FROM 5 MILES
EAST OF GREENSBURG IN THE HAVILAND AREA AND EXTENDED TO 15 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF GREENSBURG ALONG THE KIOWA/COMANCHE COUNTY LINE. MOVEMENT
OF THESE TORNADOES WAS TO THE NORTH-NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR AND
THEY WILL CONTINUE AROUND THE GREENSBURG AND HAVILAND AREAS UNTIL AT
LEAST 630 PM CDT. IF YOU LIVE IN THESE AREAS...TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY.
 
 
THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS STORM.  ACT QUICKLY.  IF YOU ARE IN THE
PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF AVAILABLE.
OTHERWISE... GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR
POSSIBLE.  AVOID WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A
STURDIER BUILDING OR GET INTO A DITCH OR CULVERT.
