000 TTAA00 KDDC 072138 RRA SVRDDC KSC033-072230- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 438 PM CDT FRI MAY 7 1993 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 530 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS ...COMANCHE COUNTY AT 435 PM CDT...DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 10 MILES SOUTH OF COLDWATER KANSAS OR NEAR THE TOWN OF BUTTERMILK. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL MOVE INTO THE WILMORE AREA BY AROUND 450 PM CDT. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHT NING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY... SO DON'T DRIVE ONTO WATER-COVERED ROADS.
