IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS ...SOUTHEASTERN EDWARDS COUNTY AT 625 PM CDT...OFFICIALS IN EDWARDS COUNTY REPORT THAT THE RATTLESNAKE CREEK IN SOUTHEAST EDWARDS COUNTY CONTINUED TO SHOW RISES AND WAS NOW OVER 5 MILES WIDE IN PLACES. WATER CONTINUES TO GO OVER THE HAGWOOD BRIDGE. ...THE FLOOD WARNING FOR SOUTHEAST EDWARDS COUNTY HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 930 PM CDT... THE RATE OF RISE OF THE CREEK HAD DECREASED AND IT SHOULD FINALLY BEGIN TO RECEDE BY DARK TONIGHT. IF YOU LIVE OR HAVE AGRICULTURAL INTERESTS ALONG THE RATTLESNAKE CREEK NEAR TROUSDALE AND FELLSBURG...THE WORST SHOULD BE NEARLY OVER. THE GREATEST DANGER AT THIS POINT IS FOR DRIVERS ATTEMPTING TO CROSS AREA ROADS. HIGHWAY 19 IS CLOSED ACROSS SOUTHEAST EDWARDS COUNTY AND OFFICIALS HAVE PLACED ROAD BLOCKS. MANY DIRT ROADS AND COUNTY ROADS IN THE SOUTHEAST PART OF THE COUNTY REMAIN BLOCKED BY RUNNING WATER. YOU SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL IN THIS AREA. STAY HOME AND WAIT FOR THE WATERS TO RECEDE.
