000 TTAA00 KMOB 262006 SVRMOB ALC053-262115- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 306 PM CDT TUE MAY 26 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 415 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...... IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA ...ESCAMBIA COUNTY AT 305 PM CDT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED BY RADAR OVER WESTERN ESCAMBIA COUNTY ALABAMA JUST WEST OF THE TOWN OF ATMORE. THE STORM WAS MOVING TO THE EAST AT 20 MPH AND WILL PASS NEAR THE TOWN OF ATMORE DURING THE NEXT 30 MINUTES. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. AT 1110 AM CDT MOBILE RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSRORMS FROM NEAR BILOXI TO PASCAGOULA MISSISSIPPI. BRIEF PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL ABOUT NOON. OTHER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSHOWERS EXTENDED FROM PASCAGOULA TO SOUTH MOBILE COUNTY AND ACROSS MOBILE BAY INTO BALDWIN COUNTY. THIS AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSHOWERS HAVE DECREASED IN INTENSITY OVER THE LAST HOUR...HOWEVER GUSTY WINDS AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING CAN BE EXPECTED AS THEY MOVE ACROSS MOBILE BAY.
