THE PUBLIC REPORTS A TORNADO TOUCHDOWN IN THE NORTHERN PART
OF FRANKLIN COUNTY NEAR THE COMMUNITY OF ESTILL SPRINGS. SOME
DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED.
THE STORM IS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 TO 50 MPH AND WILL AFFECT
ONLY NORTHERN FRANKLIN COUNTY.

TNZ007>011-100315- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN 730 PM CST FRI FEB 9 1990 ...THUNDERSTORMS AND GUSTY WINDS OVER THE MID STATE... A COLD FRONT IS MOVING ACROSS THE MIDDLE SECTION OF TENNESSEE THIS EVENING AND IS PRODUCING SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS AND STRONG WINDS. AT 725 PM NASHVILLE RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS FROM SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY NEAR BOWLING GREEN THROUGH NASHVILLE AND INTO SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE. SOME OF THE STORMS ARE PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN. AS THE COLD FRONT PASSES WINDS ARE GUSTING OVER 30 MPH. NASHVILLE AIRPORT HAD A WIND GUST TO 37 MPH AT 715 PM. RESIDENTS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE FROM NASHVILLE EAST TO THE PLATEAU AND SOUTH TO THE ALABAMA STATE LINE CAN EXPECT THESE WINDS TO DEVELOP BEFORE MIDNIGHT AS THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH. . THE RAIN SHOULD END SATURDAY MORNING OVER MIDDLE TENNESSEE WITH A COOLDER WEEKEND IN STORE. OF INTEREST TO FARMERS AND GARDENERS... THE TEMPERATURE IS EXPECTED TO DROP BELOW FREEZING SATURDAY NIGHT.
