...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS MOVING THROUGH NORTHWEST WISCONSIN...
AT 205 PM A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS...SOME WITH HEAVY RAIN...WAS
OVER NORTHWEST WISCONSIN. THIS LINE EXTENDED FROM ABOUT 30 MILES
NORTHWEST OF LADYSMITH NEAR BIRCHWOOD TO ABOUT 25 MILES NORTH OF
LADYSMITH.
THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL
BE AFFECTING NORTHEAST BARRON COUNTY AND NORTHERN RUSK COUNTY INCLUDING
THE TOWNS OF LADYSMITH AND BRUCE THROUGH 245 PM.
THE STRONGEST STORMS WILL PRODUCE BRIEF PERIODS OF VERY HEAVY RAIN AND
POSSIBLY SOME PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HAIL.

WIZ003-006-092230- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MINNEAPOLIS/ST PAUL MN 440 PM CDT THU AUG 9 1990 AT 430 PM...POWERFUL THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING BETWEEN WHEELER AND THORP OVER WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN. SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY PRODUCE PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HAIL...STRONG GUSTY WINDS...AND FREQUENT DEADLY LIGHTNING. VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IS ALSO LIKELY WITH THESE STORMS. AN INCH OF RAIN FELL FROM THESE STORMS AS THEY MOVED THROUGH HOLCOMBE IN NORTHERN CHIPPEWA COUNTY AROUND 400 PM. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 25 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR. PERSONS IN THE VICINITY OF THESE STORMS SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR RADIO AND T.V. FOR FURTHER STATEMENTS ON THESE THUNDERSTORMS. SEEK SAFE SHELTER IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES YOU. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM FOR A LARGE PART OF WISCONSIN.
