THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  615 PM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA
 
   ...BALDWIN COUNTY
 
AT 308 PM THE MOBILE RADAR INDICATED A BAND OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
LOCATED NORTH-SOUTH OVER MOBILE BAY. THE LINE WAS CONTINUING TO DRIFT
TOWARD THE EAST WHILE THE INDIVIDUAL THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE
NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.
 
THESE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PRODUCED 4 TO 6 INCHES OF RAINFALL IN MOBILE
COUNTY SINCE 800 AM.  RESIDENTS IN BALDWIN COUNTY...ESPECIALLY THE
NORTH HALF...CAN EXPECT RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES DURING THE
NEXT 3 HOURS.
 
FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED ON ROADS AND HIGHWAYS AND IN LOW AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING.
 
RESIDENTS IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND
NOW.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
