THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  415 AM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN CENTRAL INDIANA
          ...CLINTON
IN WEST CENTRAL INDIANA
          ...TIPPECANOE...WARREN
 
SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT THE STATE POLICE REPORTED RISING WATER COVERING
STATE ROAD 26 NEAR EDNA MILLS WHICH IS 12 MILES EAST OF LAFAYETTE. THE
CLINTON AND TIPPECANOE COUNTY SHERIFFS ALSO REPORTED LOW SPOTS ON MOST
ROADS WERE FLOODED IN BOTH COUNTIES.
 
THE PUBLIC REPORTED JUST BEFORE 1230 AM EST THAT STATE ROAD 55 WAS
WASHED OUT 1 MILE SOUTH OF PINE VILLAGE. THIS LOCATION IS 20 MILES
WEST OF LAFAYETTE.
 
WEATHER RADAR IN INDIANAPOLIS CONTINUED TO SHOW RAIN WITH PATCHES OF
HEAVIER RAIN IN THESE AREAS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
