THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 PM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

IN CENTRAL INDIANA
...OWEN...MORGAN...JOHNSON...SHELBY AND HANCOCK.

VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL RAINS MOVING THROUGH SECTIONS
OF CENTRAL INDIANA WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING THIS EVENING. RAINFALL OF
1 TO 1.5 INCHES IN 20 MINUTES HAVE OCCURRED WITH THESE STORMS.

ROADS...SMALL CREEKS...DITCHES AND UNDERPASSES WILL QUICKLY FLOOD.

HIGHWAY 40 IN PLAINFIELD HAD 1 TO 1 1/2 FOOT OF STANDING WATER.
AT NORTH SALEM IN NORTHWEST HENDRICKS COUNTY 4 TO 6 INCHES OF WATER
WAS STANDING ON STATE ROAD 75. STREETS IN CARMEL WERE BARRICADED FOR
TRAFFIC DUE TO FLOODING.

PERSONS LIVING NEAR STREAMS AND DITCHES SHOULD BE ALERT TO FLOODING
AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND IF WATER RISES RAPIDLY. STAY AWAY FROM FLOODED
STREAMS AND OVERFLOWING CULVERTS.

MOTORIST TRAVELLING THROUGH THESE AREAS SHOULD AVOID DRIVING THROUGH
FLOWING WATERS OR FLOODED ROADS.
