THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS ISSUED A
SMALL STREAM AND URBAN FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  715 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS......
 
IN NORTH DELAWARE
 
   ...NORTHERN NEW CASTLE COUNTY
 
HEAVY RAIN OCCURRED IN THE THUNDERSTORM THAT JUST PASSED THROUGH
NORTHERN NEW CASTLE COUNTY OF DELAWARE...BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES FELL
WITHIN AN HOUR. SOME ROADWAY AND URBAN FLOODING HAS BEEN
OBSERVED...AND WHITE CLAY CREEK HAS RESPONED TO THE RAIN AND THE
STREAM LEVEL HAS DOUBLED IN THE PAST HOUR AND SHOULD CONTINUE TO
RISE...BUT IS NOT EXPECTED TO PRODUCE ANY MAJOR FLOODING. MOTORIST
SHOULD CONTINUE TI USE CAUTION IN REGARD TO WATER ON THE ROADWAYS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
ITHE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
