FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA
          ...COBB...DEKALB...FULTON
 
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN HAVE BEEN MOVING THROUGH
THE ATLANTA METRO AREA... PRODUCING RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3
INCHES SINCE 7 AM. CREEKS AND STREAMS ARE ON THE RISE THROUGHOUT
METRO ATLANTA AND WILL BE OVERFLOWING THEIR BANKS.
 
AT 1030 AM EST... THE STAGE ON PEACHTREE CREEK AT NORTHSIDE DRIVE
WAS 14.8 FEET AND RISING. A CREST OF 18 TO 19 FEET IS FORECAST AT
NORTHSIDE DRIVE EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. FLOOD STAGE ON PEACHTREE
CREEK IS 17 FEET AND THIS WILL CAUSE SUBSTANTIAL FLOODING OF LOW
AREAS ALONG WOODWARD WAY... HANOVER WEST DRIVE... THE BOBBY JONES
GOLF COURSE... AND LOWER LYING AREAS ALONG NANCY CREEK IN FULTON
AND DEKALB COUNTIES.
 
 
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
