THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DES MOINES HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  600 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN WEST CENTRAL IOWA
          ...CARROLL
 
HEAVY RAINS OVER THE PAST 2-4 HOURS HAVE CAUSED SMALL RIVERS AND
STREAMS TO FILL TO BANKFULL THROUGHOUT CARROLL COUNTY AND FLOODING IS
BEGINNING TO THREATEN ROADWAYS IN MANY AREAS. ROADWAY AND BRIDGE
FLOODING WAS REPORTED WEST OF THE CITY OF CARROLL AT 145AM.
 
ALL CITIES/TOWNS IN CARROLL COUNTY...INCLUDING CARROLL ITSELF...ARE
THREATENED BY FLASH FLOODING IN LOW AREAS NEAR SMALL RIVERS AND
STREAMS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLYm.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
