THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 935 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES

   IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK
   ERIE

AT 835 PM BUFFALO WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF VERY HEAVY
THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING THROUGH EASTERN LAKE ERIE AND THE BUFFALO
METRO AREA. THE STORMS WERE MOVING RAPIDLY EAST AT 40 TO 50 MPH AND
HAVE A HISTORY OF PRODUCING STRONG WINDS...HAIL...AND FUNNELS.


BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT LIGHTNING
STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HbAIL. LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN MAY ALSO
CAUSE DRAINAGE FLOODING.

IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES GO TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY.
IN HOMES A BASEMENT OR INTERIOR ROOM IS THE SAFEST LOCATION.
