359 PM CDT MON JUL 27 1987

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 430 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF

SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA...SOUTHEAST DAKOTA


AT 405 PM CDT...PUBLIC REPORTS CONTINUE TO COME IN ON A TORNADO
LOCATED IN SOUTHEAST DAKOTA COUNTY ABOUT 25 MILES SOUTHEAST OF
THE TWIN CITIES.  BEST RADAR INDICATION WOULD PLACE THE TORNADO AT
355 PM CDT JUST WEST OF WELCH. DAMAGE IS REPORTED IN WELCH TO
BUILDINGS.

THE STORM IS MOVING SLOWLY WESTWARD AT 5 TO 10 MPH. MIESVILLE
AND RANDOLPH ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION.  ACT QUICKLY.  IF YOU ARE IN
THE PATH OF A TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF AVAILABLE.
OTHERWISE..GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR
POSSIBLE.  AVOID WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A
REINFORCED BUILDING OR GET INTO A DITCH OR CULVERT.
