000 TTAA00 KMSP 111252 SVRMSP MNC025-163-WIC095-111330- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MINNEAPOLIS MN 752 AM CDT SAT JUL 11 1987 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 830 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA... CHISAGO AND EXTREME NORTHERN WASHINGTON WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN... WESTERN POLK AT 745 AM CDT TWIN CITIES RADAR INDICATED SEVERAL SEVER THUNDER- STORMS THROUGH ISANTI AND ANOKA COUNTIES OF EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA 20 TO 30 MILES NORTH OF THE TWIN CITES. THESE THUNDER- STORMS HAVE A HISTORY OF LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MILES AN HOUR. WINDS OF 87 MPH WERE REPORTED IN NORTHERN WRIGHT COUNTY EARLIER THIS MORNING. CITIES IN THE PATH OF THESE THINDERSTORMS ARE NORTH BRANCH..FOREST LAKE OF EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND ST CROIX FALLS OF POLK COUNTY OF WEST CNTRAL WISCONSIN. THESE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE ACCELERATED IN MOVEMENT TO AROUND 45 MILES AN HOUR TO THE EST NORTHEAST. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH..DESTRUCTIVE HAIL..DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. ALSO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING..SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IF ONE IS SPOTTED.
