THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 430 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF

NORTHEAST MISSOURI... SOUTHEAST ADAIR AND KNOX

AT 340 PM CDT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS 15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF
KIRKSVILLE MISSOURI MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

BE ALERT FOR DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING.  STAY
INDOORS AWAY FROM WINDOWS.  AVOID USING THE TELEPHONE AND ELECTRIC
APPLIANCES.  BE ALERT FOR FLOODING OF STREAMS AND LOW AREAS.

PLEASE REPORT ANY SEVERE WEATHER TO YOUR NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 9PM IN NORTH CENTRAL MISSOURI...
...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING RAPIDLY AROUND CENTRAL MISSOURI...

AT 205 PM..STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE BUILDING RAPIDLY IN PARTS OF
CENTRAL MISSOURI FROM 10 MILES WEST OF SEDALIA TO JUST WEST OF COLUMBIA
THEN NORTH TO KIRKSVILLE IN A LINE ABOUT 15 MILES WIDE.  NUMEROUS OTHER
SCATTERED SHOWERS WERE ALSO SEEN TO BE DEVELOPING AROUND MID MISSOURI.
THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

THE STRONGEST OF THE STORMS WAS 7 MILES NORTH OF MOBERLY IN THE NORTH
AND 20 MILES WEST OF WARSAW IN THE SOUTHWEST.  ANY OF THESE THUNDER-
STORMS MAY PRODUCE BRIEF..LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN ALONG WITH GUSTY WINDS AND
AT LEAST SMALL HAIL ALONG WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.
