SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY
235 PM EDT SAT MAY 30 1987

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 400 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN

WESTERN NEW YORK...NIAGARA AND COASTAL WATERS OF LAKE ONTARIO.

AT 235 PM EDT BUFFALO WEATHER RADAR OBSERVED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
ALONG THE LAKE ONTARIO SHORE FROM JUST WEST OF NIAGARA RIVER TO
HAMILTON. A THUNDERSTORM MAY BE SEVERE. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING
EAST AT 25 MPH.  THE MOST LIKELY AREA TO RECEIVE THESE STORMS WILL
BE IN THE NORTHWRN PORTION OF NIAGARA COUNTY.
BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT LIGHTNING..
STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN MAY ALSO CAUSE
DRAINAGE FLOODING.

IF THREATENING WEATHER IS OBSERVED GO TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY.

HOMES A BASEMENT OR INTERIOR ROOM IS THE SAFEST LOCATION.  MOBILE HOMES
OFFER NO SHELTER FROM HIGH WINDS.
