SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ROCHESTER MN
228 PM CDT TUE JUL 8 1986

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 315 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES OF

SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA...WATONWAN...BLUE EARTH...FARIBAULT AND 
 WASECA

AT 215 PM CDT WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
LINE FROM MANKATO TO BUTTERFIELD AND SOUTHWEST WATONWAN
COUNTY IN SOUTHERN MINNESOTA. MOVEMENT IS TO THE EAST AT
35 MPH. AT 210 PM CDT MANKATO RADIO STATION REPORTED WIND
GUST TO 72 MPH. ALSO A FUNNEL CLOUD WAS REPORTED NEAR THE
CITY OF BUTTERFIELD MN IN WATONWAN COUNTY.

 A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCES STRONG DAMAGING WINDS..LARGE HAIL
 ..VERY HEAVY RAIN AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.

 REMEMBER THESE STORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO
 WITH LITTLE OR NOW ADVANCE WARNING SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT.
