Three Queens Facebook (frequent video updates). The Three Queens Fire is located on Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest, six miles east of Snoqualmie Pass, in Kittitas County. The Three Queens fire is burning primarily in high elevation subalpine fir stringers above Lake Kachess. Wind driven fire behavior persists as strong winds push flames across fuels. This mountainous region also exhibits extreme slopes, unstable terrain and rolling material. Crews are monitoring these conditions closely and adjusting tactics to maintain safe and effective operations. EVACUATION LEVELS REDUCED IN PORTIONS OF THE THREE QUEENS AND GOAT FIRE AREASThe Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office reduced evacuation warning levels in several areas affected by the Three Queens and Goat fires near the northern ends of Lake Kachess and Lake Cle Elum. Kittitas County Emergency Management has educed the evacuation warning level for the area north of French Cabin Creek Road on the East side of Salmon La Sac Road, from Level 3 to a LEVEL 2 - GET READY.Facilities, lands, and roads west of Salmon La Sac Road remain under a Level 3 - GO NOW evacuation warning. Both the French Cabin Creek Road and Cooper Lake Road systems remain closed to protect the public and the safety of crews still conducting fire-related operations. All other evacuation warnings remain in effect at their current levels. Current evacuation levels and boundaries can always be viewed on the Kittitas County Live Evacuation Map. The areas affected by these changes are within, or surrounded by, the portion of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest that remains closed to public recreation for the safety of the public and firefighting personnel. Lowering the evacuation warning levels does not reopen these areas for recreational access. These changes primarily affect residents and people who own property within the affected areas. We thank the Incident Management Team overseeing this complex operation, the firefighters making progress on fire lines and other containment measures, and everyone who continues to respect the closures and support the work being done to protect our communities.
