Background: The Rowe Creek Complex is a cluster of lightning-caused wildfires with the majority of land impacted in Wheeler County, Oregon. These wildfires were ignited when a lightning storm passed over the Twickenham area on July 15 & 16, 2026. Central Oregon Type 3 Team took command of the Rowe Creek Complex at 6:00pm, on July 16, followed by Northwest Complex Incident Management Team 2 (NW2) in Unified Command with Oregon State Fire Marshal Green Incident Management Team assumed command at 6:00am on July 18, Southwest Complex Incident Management Team 2 in Unified Command with Oregon State Fire Marshal Red Incident Management Team on August 2, and ODF Complex Incident Management Team 2 on August 16. As of August 27, the complex is being managed by California Complex Interagency Incident Management Team 4. On September 9th, CAIIMT 4 transferred command of the incident to ODF CIMT 1. Primary fires original names (start dates): Twickenham (7/05), Crosswhite (7/15), Camel Hump (7/15), Cove Creek (7/15), Brewer (7/15), Red Rock (7/15), Pat's Cabin (7/16), 0502 (7/16), Cherry Creek (7/16), Box Springs (7/17), 0571 (7/22), 0594 (7/24), and Green Mountain (7/24) Managing Agencies: Bureau of Land Management, Oregon Department of Forestry, Oregon State Fire Marshal, Wheeler County Sheriff's Office, Rural Fire Protection Associations, U.S. Forest Service partners, National Park Service, Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, and cooperating agencies. Closures remain in effect for areas of the BLM Prineville District and Ochoco National Forest due to hazardous post-fire conditions.
