   Light damage. Surface peeled off some roofs, gutters and siding damaged, branches broken, shallow-rooted trees pushed over.

   Moderate damage. Roofs badly stripped, mobile homes overturned or badly damaged, exterior doors lost, windows broken.

3. EF2111 to 135 mph

   Considerable damage. Roofs torn off well-built houses, frame homes shifted on their foundations, mobile homes destroyed, large trees snapped or uprooted, cars lifted off the ground.

4. EF3136 to 165 mph

   Severe damage. Whole stories of well-built houses destroyed, large buildings badly damaged, trains overturned, trees debarked, heavy cars lifted and thrown.

5. EF4166 to 200 mph

   Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

6. EF5over 200 mph

   Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

7. Unrated

   The survey recorded a tornado but could not put a number on it, most often because it crossed open country and damaged nothing a rating can be read from.

A significant flooding and severe weather event unfolded over the tri-state area during early December as showers and thunderstorms spread northward across the area for multiple days. The most noteworthy impact over the weekend was heavy precipitation. Widespread rainfall totals reached 5-7 inches throughout the area with some localized heavier amounts near 10 inches. This resulted in flash flooding and river flooding across numerous counties. In addition, five tornadoes touched down, including one in southeast Alabama, two in southwest Georgia, one in the Florida panhandle, and one in the Florida big bend.

A tornado touched down near Ty Ty Sparks Rd north of US 319 and traveled northeast across Flat Ford Rd and Keith-Fletcher Rd. The tornado lifted just after crossing Ty Ty Omega Rd. Damage was primarily confined to irrigation systems and trees. A substation sustained some damage as well. The tornado is rated EF0 with estimated maximum winds of 85 mph.

10 minutes of warning. NWS TAE issued a tornado warning for this county at 14:12 UTC, 10 minutes before the tornado touched down, in force until 14:47 UTC.

The county was under a tornado watch, issued at 08:51 UTC and running to 15:08 UTC.
