   Light damage. Surface peeled off some roofs, gutters and siding damaged, branches broken, shallow-rooted trees pushed over.

   Moderate damage. Roofs badly stripped, mobile homes overturned or badly damaged, exterior doors lost, windows broken.

3. EF2111 to 135 mph

   Considerable damage. Roofs torn off well-built houses, frame homes shifted on their foundations, mobile homes destroyed, large trees snapped or uprooted, cars lifted off the ground.

4. EF3136 to 165 mph

   Severe damage. Whole stories of well-built houses destroyed, large buildings badly damaged, trains overturned, trees debarked, heavy cars lifted and thrown.

5. EF4166 to 200 mph

   Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

6. EF5over 200 mph

   Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

7. Unrated

   The survey recorded a tornado but could not put a number on it, most often because it crossed open country and damaged nothing a rating can be read from.

Active weather pattern with mean layer mid level trough carving southward across the SE region and a surface front across the Appalachians. Strong wind shear combined with instability produced severe storms during the afternoon and evening. A couple of tornadoes touched down in SE Georgia.

A tornado touched down just south of U.S. Highway 82 in Millwood. The preliminary intensity was EF1 with maximum winds near 100 mph. The tornado was on the ground for about 9 minutes and traveled about 2.6 miles. Minor damage occurred near Indian Mound Road and damage became more significant as the storm moved over the Manor-Millwood Road north. Damage to structures and trees was more signficant near Mullis Road where an old travel trailer was rolled and destroyed. A trailer in the area also had its rooof removed. Damaged occurred near Perch Creek Rd toward the Zion Hill Freewill Baptist Church where many small farm structures were thrown northward. The tree damage pattern was convergent. Major tree blown down was observed at a farm north of Zion Hill Road. Several horses were trapped by debris and two dogs were missing after the tornado went through. Cost of damage unknown.
