Strongest winds gusting to Hurricane force were observed at the Shemya/Eareckson Airforce Station ASOS during the morning of September 30th. Communications from the observation site were interrupted during the peak of the event, but an observer was able to later confirm the peak gust recorded was 76 knots or 87 mph.

The tidal gauge at Kwigillingok along the Kuskokwim Delta Coast showed observed values peaking about 2 feet above the normal high tide (highest astronomical tide) line on the morning of October 2nd.

A best track is the record a warning agency settles on after the storm, not what it said at the time: position, maximum sustained wind and central pressure every six hours, revised against every observation that came in later.
