Root River Near Houston affecting Houston County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and forecast to continue. * WHERE...Root River near Houston. * WHEN...Until Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding occurs. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:45 AM CDT Monday the stage was 15.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:45 AM CDT Monday was 15.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this evening and continue falling to 5.9 feet Monday, September 28. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.5 feet on 04/13/2001. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
